A Unique Relationship With His Editor

We started off a fun (and very insightful) conversation with Carl Brookin’s by briefly learning he has a very unique relationship with his editor.  Actually, Rob has a similar relationship with his editor 😉 Hate to disappoint you, but you will have to listen to find out what we mean…and we are moving on now quickly before this conversation goes in a…ah well…direction we don’t want to take it.  LOL

Carl wanted to write – always.  He loved writing in school, college, and then made sure his work was writing in some fashion over the years.  Upon retiring from Metro State University he wondered…”now what…?”  The short of it is that he took a course on how to write a mystery, and proceeded to write his mysteries. We believe this is great advice.

This conversation was filled with another great piece of wisdom – join a group of fellow writers or create one of your own.  Carl and approximately 8-9 other writers created a critique group that was loving with each other, but very honest. He shared, “we left our egos in a brown paper bag at the door.”
