ATAI: What do you love most about writing?
P. Ameer Ali : The most exciting thing about writing is that for the first time, you try to initiate and maintain an ongoing conversation with an invisible friend and audience, that is, your readers. You get no clue at all about their response ( and even reprimands, at times!) and still continue to keep the conversation going on, in the strong belief that they will come to like at least some part of your writing, if not all. Of course, you have to be a staunch positive thinker to maintain such a composure throughout your writing episode, as otherwise Writer’s Block or sheer Despair will overtake you. I have been fortunate enough to get fairly quick and mostly appreciative reviews on my work from my readers, probably because I have chosen such quickly responsive platforms, and I have the knack of visualizing what my prospective readers would relish from my pen. My interesting experience in answering a whole lot of practical questions from readers of various hues, on Quora.com platform, has given me a rare insight into what the readers normally expect from a resourceful author, and so I am able to dish out hot favourite materials which suit their tastes and needs. So far so good!
ATAI: What do you find most challenging?
P. Ameer Ali : Carrying my “baby” to the market place seems to be the most challenging aspect of my career, as an author. I know my book is loaded with really stimulating and directly applicable valid principles which any youngster with ambition should only be too glad to devour to equip and empower himself to face the competitive world. However, to reach this target audience within a reasonable time, and at a reasonable cost, appears to be somewhat challenging. Of course, marketing is not new to me; I had been a professional marketer in the pharmaceutical field some years ago, and I am confident that I could break this impasse, sooner than later.
ATAI: Where do your ideas come from?
P. Ameer Ali : My ideas come mainly from my past work experience. I had the fortune to work in different fields and had the opportunity to interact with people from different backgrounds and with varied skill sets, and so I could fill my bag with a lot of interesting information and experience. Now that I try to ruminate on all those details in my Mind Laboratory, they bloom into novel and enriching concepts, most suitable to be captured in the print form, for their intrinsic value. Nowadays, I do get ideas, literally out of the blue, and I am vigilant enough to capture and treasure them as and when they come to me, and later on I do whatever fine-tuning or editing is required.
ATAI: What is your writing process?
P. Ameer Ali : Once a Central Idea appeals to me and I am convinced that it is worth pursuing, then I try to divide it into different sub topics or chapters and start collecting as much details as possible from all available sources. The more the details, the better would be the final product outcome, and so I relentlessly go in search of all related material. Alongside I start organizing the already gathered material in meaningful clusters so that they could later on be arranged in an intelligible order. I spend considerable time in formatting and finally zeroing in on the most suitable and attractive title for my work. Throughout my writing process, I try to keep a mental picture of my reader in front of me, and this virtual image largely decides my writing style.
ATAI: Do your characters (or message) ever seem to have a life of their own or an agenda of their own?
P. Ameer Ali : I am a non-fiction writer, specialising in the promotion of valuable life skills. For the purpose of projecting these skills in a powerful and convincing manner to my readers, I turn these ideas, over and over many times, in my mind, and only when I am satisfied with a version to be put on paper, do I venture to do it. So the chances of my message going in a direction that I didn’t expect haven’t happened to me so far.
ATAI: What’s your favorite part of your book (or one of your books)?
P. Ameer Ali : In my Book “ Sizzling soft Skills For Spectacular Success”, I have given a graphic description of 10 of the most important Soft Skills, validating their relevance and usefulness with a lot of interesting real life episodes, which makes an easy and enjoyable reading. To recap, I have listed the 10 Outstanding Benefits of each of these Soft Skills, in a tabular column, for easy reference and recall. The most favorite part of my book is the Punch Line I have appended at the end of each Chapter, as the Last Word. One such Punch Line at the end of the Chapter on ‘Innovation and Creativity’ :
“ Activity is just the Sign of Life,
Creativity is the real Crown of Life !”
ATAI: What are you working on next?
P. Ameer Ali : As I had mentioned earlier, nowadays, I seem to be getting a lot of inspiring ideas, almost out of the blue, and most of these ideas point to a dimension which had not been so far visible to many, including myself. I feel it is worthwhile to compile, edit and present them as a Chronicle for the intellectually oriented mature readers to peruse and benefit. I am into it right now. Alongside, I am organizing various inputs I have collected over the past many years, concerning Teacher Motivation, a topic which is close to my heart, because I respect Teachers a lot.
ATAI: Where can people find you online?
P. Ameer Ali : People can find me on any of these portal addresses:
